Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy aims to help you deconstruct your story and help you re-write it in a way that makes you feel more empowered in the present. Through mixed media such as writing, drawing, or just sharing aloud your story, you engage with the following questions:
- How do you see yourself as the hero or the victim of your own story?
- Who are the “characters” (friends, villains) of your story?
- What is your origin story and what were the turning points in your life?
- What parts of this story affect the ways you relate with others?
- How can that story be re-written in a way that makes you feel more empowered right now?
Mindfulness Therapy
Mindfulness therapy aims to help you create an emotional and mental awareness of yourself, those around you, and your present moment. With mindfulness therapy you will practice and learn:
- meditation and how to develop a meditative mindset in work and social situations
- ways to be less involved with intrusive, uncomfortable thoughts and feelings
- tools to help you manage triggers without acting out on anxiety or anger
Play Therapy for Adults
Play therapy for adults aims to help you take life and yourself less seriously. Play therapy encourages imperfection and an embracing of one’s self through activities such as:
- Bringing back some childhood favorite games and activities
- Doing silly, nonsensical activities to help you amuse yourself
- Role-playing scenarios in your life where you are a child in a point of time in your life
- Discussions of how to incorporate this new, playful you into relationships and your work life.
